Here's my opinion, for what it's worth: they were obviously just supposed to be playing around, not seriously boxing. The woman had no idea how to throw an effective punch, and could not have hurt him with those wild looping girly-punches, especially since he was covering up very well. If he wanted to show her a couple moves, or teach her a lesson, he could have just thrown a couple fast but pulled punches that barely "grazed" her, and let her imagine what would have happened had he really hit her full-throttle. Hell, I used to do that with my son and my nephew, when they were teenagers and I was teaching them to fight.
